Reflection While writing
is an activity I actually like, I never imagined writing a real story could be
so hard in many aspects. When writing or reading a story most people imagine
whatever is going on in their heads, but even then the thought of making my own
story a video never crossed my mind; but that is what we did as a project. I
started off thinking really hard about what I wanted my story to narrate, and
it wasn't easy at all finding a topic and creating an idea. Once I had the main
idea of my narration, it all was actually easy, the major difficulty was the
time frame we were given to write the story since it wasn't always easy to
write fluently; but after I concentrated hard, the story practically wrote
itself. After the writing of the story came the project of turning it into a
video, which actually was a lot harder than what I imagined. To start off it is
always important to brainstorm whatever you want to put on your video, so we
made an outline of the scenes we wanted to animate drawn by us. The next step was
to look for apps that we could use and one of my main options was iMovie
because I really know how to use the app, so I thought this would make the
process easier for me. Once I had found all the resources I needed like apps,
videos, pictures, and music, then putting the video wasn't actually that hard.
While turning the story into a digital narrative, there were always some steps of the way that remained the same. The first and most important step in both processes was to brainstorm the whole project; brainstorming really helped when looking for ideas and also for figuring out how I wanted my video to look like. But in the processes there were also things that were really different, things like the resources we had to use for each of them. For the written story it was really easy because we just had to use pages or an app where we could type, but for the video we had to look for apps, pictures, videos, and other kind of media that could support what we wanted to show. For both projects there were difficulties but in my opinion it was easier to just write the story and I didn't enjoy making a video as much as I did writing. When writing I just had to worry about making sure my story made sense and that it was what I wanted it to be, but turning my imagination into something more was a harder process. At first I didn't even know how I could turn my ideas into a video, it was hard finding the right apps and media, and that is also why I didn't like the process that much. In the end both projects came out right for me and that's what is important, but I definitely wish I could've just kept my ideas in my head because they did look better when I imagined them. fRIENDSHIP sONNET |

SPEAK PROJECT
Last quarter in English class we created a project based on a book we were reading by groups. The book my group read was Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson. This is a great book that talks about many of the problems a teenager has the possibility of facing, it was interesting and in the project below you can find everything you would like to know about the book. The idea of this project was to get us, students, to become experts on our books and create a page where we could show what we learned, this is the outcome of our project.
